So I recently discovered The Birthday Massacre's new album and immediately I fell in love with it <3

I'm listening non-stop to it, haha! I think it's one of their best albums until now. What I like about it is that there's really a story behind it. I quote from wikipedia: "In an interview with Auxiliary Magazine, the album's theme was described by the band as being loosely based on Chibi's fascination with unsolved murder mysteries, the idea of the city, and death; particularly, the thirty-year-old mystery of a missing girl."

Kenzi sleeves

So in 2 days it's FACTS convention and I've been working on my cosplay outfit today. Most of the things are just clothes I found and combined, but Kenzi's sleeves I had to make myself. I'm still working on it, but here's the first glimpse of it!

So first I cut a panty, but since it was a panty in two pieces I just had to cut it in two. And then I used textile paint for the black parts. I didn't really paint it, I just randomly splashed the paint all over the pieces and this is the result. I'm actually quite proud of it, cause it does look a bit like Kenzi's! ^^

I can't wait to be her for one day <3

Who else is coming to FACTS Convention and how are you going to be cosplayed (if you'll be cosplayed of course). I will be Kenzi on Saturday and The Doctor's Daughter on Sunday! ^^

I found it on tumblr a couple of days ago and I love it! It's just so random and doesn't make sense. Just like my life.

Meanwhile I'm totally obsessed with Lana Del Rey's music too (since the summer) and just keep listening to her. 

I also started my Book Reading Challenge! I'm in my second book now 'Neverwhere' from Neil Gaiman. I still have a lot to read, so I'm going to do that now. Bye!

My life & my new obsession: Kenzi

I just realized I haven't blogged for aages! So here I am again!
After a long search of what to do I decided not to study for a year and go work, at least if I can find something.. My days are so filled right now, I've got something to do almost every evening! Tuesday I have to go to the music school for 'AMC', I have no idea what it is in English, let's say lot's of theoretical stuff, Wednesday and Friday I have theatre rehearsals & Thursday I have my violin lesson.. So busy busy, but that's not everything. Some teenagers are going to make their own 'tv show' and I can participate! It's going to be a mix between Pretty Little Liars & Glee. I'm curious how that's going to turn out! Of course it's not going to be on tv and it's not professional, but it's a great experience and I think we're going to have a lot of fun! So we have to meet up twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday! AND I need to get a job, lol xD

Anyway, we'll see what happens. Meanwhile I'm totally obsessed with a show called 'Lost Girl' and especially with Kenzi. She's so amazing and I'm totally going to cosplay her for FACTS Convention <3

I'll try to blog some more these days and if I get my cosplay together I'll post it too :)

I'm also going to cosplay Jenny (The Doctor's Daughter), but need to finish my outfit.

Also, my lovely Sami has a fashion blog and she gave me the idea to make one too, don't know about it yet, cause I wouldn't know what to post since I'm not that awesome or anything, but I'll think about it! :)

Perigee "Super Moon" On May 5-6

Before I go to bed, I wanted to share this with you guys. I copied this from a site (link below), so if you're interested in it, don't forget to take a look. We will have a giant moon tomorrow night :)

'May 2, 2012:  The full Moon has a reputation for trouble. It raises high tides, it makes dogs howl, it wakes you up in the middle of the night with beams of moonlight stealing through drapes. If a moonbeam wakes you up on the night of May 5th, 2012, you might want to get out of bed and take a look.  This May’s full Moon is a "super Moon,” as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons of 2012.

The scientific term for the phenomenon is "perigee moon." Full Moons vary in size because of the oval shape of the Moon's orbit. The Moon follows an elliptical path around Earth with one side ("perigee") about 50,000 km closer than the other ("apogee").  Full Moons that occur on the perigee side of the Moon's orbit seem extra big and bright.

Such is the case on May 5th at 11:34 pm Eastern Daylight Time¹ when the Moon reaches perigee.  Only one minute later, the Moon will line up with Earth and the sun to become brilliantly full.  The timing is almost perfect.

Okay, the Moon is 14% bigger than usual, but can you really tell the difference? It's tricky. There are no rulers floating in the sky to measure lunar diameters. Hanging high overhead with no reference points to provide a sense of scale, one full Moon can seem much like any other.

The best time to look is when the Moon is near the horizon.  For reasons not fully understood by astronomers or psychologists, low-hanging Moons look unnaturally large when they beam through trees, buildings and other foreground objects. On May 5th, this Moon illusion will amplify a full Moon that's extra-big to begin with.  The swollen orb rising in the east at sunset should seem super indeed.

Folklore holds that all kinds of wacky things happen under the light of a full Moon.  Supposedly, hospital admissions increase, the crime rate ticks upward, and people behave strangely. The idea that the full Moon causes mental disorders was widespread in the Middle Ages. Even the word "lunacy," meaning "insanity," comes from the Latin word for "Moon."

The majority of modern studies, however, show no correlation between the phase of the Moon and the incidence of crime, sickness, or human behavior.  The truth is, the Moon is less influential than folklore would have us believe.

It's true that a perigee full Moon brings with it extra-high "perigean tides," but according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration this is nothing to worry about. In most places, lunar gravity at perigee pulls tide waters only a few centimeters (an inch or so) higher than usual. Local geography can amplify the effect to about 15 centimeters (six inches)--not exactly a great flood.

Super perigee Moons are actually fairly common.  The Moon becomes full within a few hours of its closest approach to Earth about once a year on average.   The last such coincidence occurred on March 19th, 2011, producing a full Moon that was almost 400 km closer than this one.  As usual, no trouble was reported--unless you count a midnight awakening as trouble.

If so, close the drapes on May 5th. Otherwise, enjoy the super-moonlight.'

Hello again!

Whew, I haven't been blogging for aaages!! Mostly I was very busy and I never knew what to write. I still don't by the way. At the moment I'm very addicted to Doctor Who and I'm watching season 4 now :) I just looove it <3

Meanwhile blogger has changed I see.. And I'm thinking about changing my blogger lay-out too.

And well, that's all I've got to say for now =p

On set

I've had two amazing days!
So yesterday I went to Dadipark to shoot with a friend and it was awesome. In total we took more than 1000 pictures, omg x] He sent me some pictures today, but I will see him tomorrow to get all of them. Before we went there, we also came actross some nice places where we took some pictures first, like a beautiful tree and a bench with dragon heads! We made a kind of dark 'Alice The Hatter' shoot (you'll see) and Dadipark was really perfect for it!

And then today was really nice too! So I went to Brussels to act in a film of a last year's student, but the funny thing was that the person that had to play with me couldn't come, so I asked a friend of mine and we went together! It was really nice to play together =D Normally it will be online the 1st of March! It was really fun to do. Now I had the chance to see how a film comes to life and be a part of it. It's not really a film though, there were just several sketches. And they used a clapperboard! =D

Dadipark

Dadipark used to be an amusement park a couple of years ago, but after an incident they closed and they're going to demolish it soon. Together with a friend we're going to do a little photoshoot there tomorrow!

My life in a nutshell.

Hello!
I thought of writing a blog post today since I haven't really written in a while.
My life's going well. At the moment I'm very busy with lots of things. I've been a month at home doing nothing, but that needed a change! First I'm looking for a job now. I've sent a mail to work in a callcenter, totally NOT my thing actually, but my sister worked there so she could help me. I hope I can work there once in a while.

I'm now trying to chase my dreams again. One of my big dreams is to act and play in films, so I've spent my yesterday evening looking for casting sites and auditions. I've sent a couple of mails and now I'm waiting. Meanwhile I'm also in a theatre group. We just started rehearsing, so I don't know when the first performance will be. (it's not really the first play, but it's the first year that I'm in the group). My sister and mother are in there too! =D
Through there I got a mail from a lastyear's student that needed someone to act in his 'film', so I sent a mail and they're gonna film it next week! It's just something for his school, but it sounds fun.

And tomorrow I'm going to a casting day of a casting bureau. I just found out about it yesterday, so I'm glad I'm on time! It's for free and they're just going to take some pictures to see if and where they can use you. I'm nervous, hope it goes well!

Oeh and last but not least: A week ago, my best friend participated on a tv-show called 'Switch' where she had to switch with another teenager for 4 days, without seeing that person. Then one of the days that person had to spend an evening with my best friend's friends, so she asked if I wanted to go and I did. It was kinda fun to do. It will be on the tv soon!

So yeah, I'm busy busy. I'll update you about tomorrow and next week too!
