Daydreaming

"Everybody, everybody has the potential for genius. The human brain is far more powerful than a computer. Than a super computer. It's potential is still not known. Everytime you put a boundary on it the brain bursts through that boundary and goes further and further. So brilliance is a potential for everybody.

The nice thing about daydreaming is that daydreaming, which has been considered a sign of incompetence, a sign of bad academic potential, we know, realise that daydreaming can break you or make you. The great geniuses did something different, they day dreamed big.

The left side of the brain is dominant in the following kinds of skills: words, numbers, lines, logic, analysis. The right side tends to be dominant in rhythm, colour, spatial awareness, imaginary and daydreaming. And you must know that for example creativity is not as nearly everyone in the world thinks. But creativity involves logic, it involves analysis, it involves words, songs. So the conclusion is that both sides of the brain, of the cortex, need to be used in harmony with each other. Then you got an explosion of creativity."

Een kruimel in het universum.

Maar het heeft geen ZIN. Het leven is één grote grap. Wat is de zin van het leven? Wat is mijn doel? Is er wel een doel? Mensen komen en gaan, de tijd tikt vooruit, maar mijn gedachten blijven in het verleden, niet in staat mee te groeien met de rest van mijn lichaam.
Algemeen bekeken betekent mijn aanwezigheid niks. Ik ben slechts een ontelbaarste van een kruimel in het universum. Of ik er nu ben of niet, het maakt niets uit. Mijn gedachten slagen op hol wanneer ik denk aan het heelal en alle dingen die wij niet eens kunnen waarnemen. Ik vraag mij soms af of iets of iemand ons bestuurt. Eén groot complot dat zich bezighoudt met onze vernietiging. Ik snap het leven niet. Ik snap het nut er niet van. Waarom? Hoe? Ik word er gek van.

Sooo it's the last day of BookTubeAThon. It has been so amazing and I'm sad it's over. But I've had a lovely week and read some amazing books. Also, when I woke up this morning I found out I was one of the winners of yesterdays giveaway challenge, eeeeeh I'm super happy!

BOOKTUBEATHON 2014!

Some of you might remember that last year I did the booktubeathon challenge and IT'S BACK!! I wanted to make it a reading summer anyway so this is perfect! It's from the 14th of July until the 21st.

Here are the challenge for this year:

1) A book with pictures.
2) Start and finish a series.
3) A book with red on the cover.
4) A book someone else picks out for you.
5) A book from the genre you've read the least this year.
6) A book to movie adaptation
7) Read seven books.

There are also 7 Video Challenges:

Day One: Show your top 3 book you read because of booktube.
Day Two: Find the items on three covers.
Day Three: Draw a better cover for any book.
Day Four: Write a story using all the words from three titles.
Day Five: Make a rainbow of you favourite books.
Day Six: Find 5 things from one of the books you've read this week.
Day Seven: Show us where you've read during the booktubeathon!

I'm super excited and I think it's manageable! I don't know yet if I will do the video challenges but who knows.. :)

These are the books I'll -try to- read:

One book is not on the pile yet because I'll have to get it from the library and it's closed until Tuesday -__- So I'll upload an updated pile next week!

Like I said in my Summer Reads post I still haven't seen the Catching Fire film so now I'll use that one for this challenge. I already started reading it, but only read one chapter so far. Since I'm also re-reading Harry Potter I might use that one for challenge number 3, but only if I've read all the rest and still have time left. Otherwise I'll use Catching Fire for two challenges.

Apocalypse

So last night was madness in Belgium. I woke up from the sound of -what I first thought was rain- on the roof but it felt like an earthquick and I thought the roof was gonna collapse or that my house was going to get blown away.. There was a huge storm and when I looked outside the whole street was under water and it was the weirdest shit ever. Ice had been pouring down on us and it smelled like the sea. Everyone was outside and I really thought this was the end of the world.

Apparently the hail was the size of a tennis ball..

I have been up till 4 O'clock and am super super tired now.
The thunder and lightning has started again and I heard people say that the storm is going to be worse tonight.. o.O
I fear the worst..

Whispers of a Mermaid

Happy June!

I woke up this morning feeling super fresh and happy with the sound of the birds on the background. I got up and after having my breakfast I made the 'perfect' breakfast for my sister and mother before they woke up to surprise them. I used these cute plates that say 'I love you forever'

I made their breakfast both to their personal preferences. My sister got fruit juice and mum got coffee. Also lots of cheese because they like that in the morning

Sister's breakfast: baguette with brie cheese, philadelphia, sandwich with jam, a piece of chocolate, walnut and piece of date/almond roll.

Mum's breakfast: baguette with brie cheese, philadelphia, homemade banana 'bread', feta cheese, olives and piece of date/almond roll. And of course coffee as she cannot start her day without it!

They were both really happy with it so that makes me happy too! :3
